Megan Wenker Obituary, Death – When I married Megan Wenker and became a Schaefer, the universe gave me a second sister, an incredible gift. People were drawn to her fascinating personality like moths to a flame, and everyone she met was forever changed by her natural ability to create authentic connections. Looking back over the last ten months, I am very proud of Megan for her love, tenacity, and strength in the face of unfathomable adversity.

Megan was more than just a sister-in-law, despite being six years my junior; she was an inspiration and a lighthouse. Her compassion, kindness, charity, and thoughtfulness were not just traits; they were parts of who she was. She became an inspiration to me, and I tried to emulate the grace and genuineness she exuded. Megan had a special way of making everyone feel loved and important, and those who were lucky enough to know her will never forget it. Megan has been put through extreme hardship over the last ten months, yet she has fought back with unmatched bravery at every turn.

She never once grumbled or faltered in her resolve to go past the challenges in her path.  As she provided steadfast support even during her own darkest hours, Megan grew to represent strength and courage for others. Her fortitude and perseverance were evidence of the remarkable spirit that characterized her.

Our children and I were not able to celebrate future milestones and vacations together due to the unforeseen turns of life. I carry a great deal of regret about that. But even in the thick of my sadness, I cling to all of the amazing moments we shared. I will always carry Megan’s life and the teachings she taught me in my heart. She instilled in me the value of embracing each moment, the strength of love, and the necessity of perseverance.
